About Maison Sauge

An independent botanical guide

Maison Sauge is an independent magazine about aromatic plants, infusions, gardening, and natural living. We have no brand sponsorship and no commercial obligations to the plants we write about.

Our philosophy

Accurate observation, not miraculous promises

We write about plants as they are: how they look, how they grow, and how they are traditionally prepared. We avoid unverified medical claims and never present a plant as a guaranteed treatment. When the evidence is limited, we say so plainly.

Our articles are written for everyday life, from small windowsill herb pots to quiet evening tisanes. The aim is to encourage curiosity and careful practice, not to replace professional advice.

Our standards

How we write

Every article follows three simple principles.

Verifiable characteristics

We describe plant features such as leaf shape, scent, growing conditions, and harvest season, based on observable and documented information.

Simple preparations

Our infusions, recipes, and garden methods use everyday ingredients and clear steps that a reader can follow at home with care.

Honest reporting

We state the limits of what is known. When sources disagree or evidence is thin, we report that uncertainty rather than hiding it.
